Sometimes leaves get stuck when they are unfurling. There are two places where the new leaf can get stuck. The first is the new leaf emerging from the previous leaf. And the second is when the new leaf is unfurling.
It is so tempting to ‘help’ it by pulling on it. If you try that you run the risk of ripping or marring the new leaf. There’s no need to do that. In the photo below this Persimmon Princess Philodendron has a leaf stuck at a painful angle.
The best solution is to mist it each day. The moisture helps the plant sort it out. I think that the leaf continues to mature and gets the strength to emerge when it’s ready to. The newest leaf had been stuck the same way and it recovered nicely.
What have you tried that works for you?
